More than 13.7 million acres of corn and soybeans in Iowa were in the path of Monday's derecho, according to estimates by Gro Intelligence. While that throws a wildcard into that state's yield projections, beneficial weather in Minnesota and Wisconsin has those states on a path to set new records.
December corn is down 1 1/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are down 3 cents, and September KC wheat is down 3/4 cent.
Cash cattle trade continues to shift higher throughout the week with some traders still holding out for higher money Friday morning. This could allow light-to-moderate trade to trickle in through late week trade with limited cash market activity seen in the North.
